When I near harvest time all I do is let the plants eat all the nutrients up in my aeroponic system so there is very little to no trace of nutrients. I find this to improve the taste and not starve the plants in their final cycle. I use a PPM meter and a Ph meter to monitor my reservoir to get the best results.
I have never experienced this but I know some people that have. I think it all depends on the water you use. But some have had to add a calcium magnesium supplement to keep their plants healthy. No fault of the Fox Farm Nutrients, it is something that you may experience. I am on well water and there are plenty of these trace elements in my water. I would also note that you have to use chlorine free water when using this product. Just let your water distill before adding the nutrients.
I highly recommend this line of nutrients for your aeroponic system, hydroponic system and or soil. Follow the schedule and if you are in fear of using too much cut 1/3 out of what is recommended. You will not burn your plants then and be safe. These products are safe and when used as instructed you will have awesome results.
Fox Farm is definitely a good fertilizer manufacturer. Their Light Warrior and Ocean Forest soils are excellent products. That being said, when you compare their nutrient trio base line to other manufacturers similar products, there is much to be desired. I have used Canna, Botanicare, House & Garden (Prefered for Hydro), Earth Juice (Prefered for Soil) and many many more. I have seen average results from FF nutrients. Nothing terrible, I find it runs hot, but not spectacular and that in it’s own right has kept me looking for and using other products. Their soluble additive products are worth looking at and can help with harvest figures when used properly.
I used this set of nutrients for my most recent hydroponic grow with very good results. I grew my plants in a mix of coco coir and perlite, then fed my plants the Fox Farms Hydroponic nutrients by following the included instructions exactly. My plants have responded very well to the regimen and are green, bushy, and producing lots of flowers.
