Ten 2" Net Pot Clone Bucket
This bucket set up is awesome. I came up with the idea searching the internet for something to clone my plants with. I have had success cloning other ways but some plants would live, some die and some grow strong. but i never knew which would grow the best. I needed something more consistent that would make sure when i took a clone it would live. Not only live but grow, and quick.
It took me awhile to make the ideal spray mechanism. After seeing what other people were making on eBay as manifolds i thought i would try their design. It didn’t work in most cases, well it worked but not with the results i was looking for. So I stated experimenting and when i found that a closed loop system for the spray manifold delivered the spray I was looking for I then went on line looking for the perfect bucket. Black with a black lid. But the spray is what is key.
I have since tried various sprays and the ones I like that don’t clog on a dog hair so it will work consistently with confidence that the plant is getting the air water mix for fast cloning. It helps to know that everything works in accordance to being able to sleep at night without worrying about my plants. After all that is why i made this EZ Hydro Bucket.
The next thing after the spry manifold was designed was to get the lid to lock down while having the electrical cord going into the bucket. The sprays are pumping out some incredible spray that a little crack will drain the water in a couple of days without leaving much of a wet spot out of the bucket. So keeping the water in is important. Just the natural evaporation takes water out of the bucket. And believe me these buckets add moisture to the room. I will have to add a fresh gallon of water every week to keep the water levels up in the bucket.
By adding water to the bucket every week keep the maintenance down and less distribution to the plants as all I have to do is pour the water right on top of the bucket lid and the water goes right down through the medium and plant stem into the bucket. To Easy.
Temperature is key to fast cloning. I add a automatic submersible water heater in the bucket too. This will guarantee that the roots to be developed will stay at a constant temp. Temperature and humidity is what get those buggers to clone fast. I have seen some in 10 days
The next step is something I do to get the best results quick.
After the plant has rooted. Usually in about 14 to 19 days I will put a fertilizer solution in the water. Mind you, very weak, almost half or less per gallon of the manufactures suggestion. The plants go right into growth. what I noticed is once my plant rooted i would remove it from it’s cozy environment and the plant would go into this 14 day dormant and not grow. So that is when i said, lets try removing the heater and adding a gallon of water with a mix of nutrients. The results were phenomenal. Three days later after the plant rooted it had doubled in it’s size with a healthy large root system. I now have to decide if I should plant it in dirt or size up the container and use the hydro spray system. being I like to experiment so much I will have to do an A B test. I will add the results to this page later.
Other than that below you will see the bucket. The only thing not shown is the heater. I get those for the best price at our favorite store and I am sure yours too, Wally World. It is about 15 bucks out the door and I can not find a better deal any where else.
